Capital Fall Classic brings
thousands of youths to Richmond to Compete!
Richmond, VA (October 30, 2007) – On November
3rd-4th some of the region’s top youth soccer teams will
converge on Striker Park and ten other sites throughout
Richmond for the annual Capital Fall Classic youth soccer
tournament presented by PeakTickets.com. Over 248 travel
teams from Virginia and six other east coast
states will be competing for top honors. The Capital Fall
Classic is quickly becoming one the fall season’s top
regional tournaments and is a nice lead in to the Striker’s
flagship tournament the Jefferson Cup which takes place in
the spring.
Youth soccer is the fastest growing sport in
the nation and over 17 million youths play in the United
States. Tournaments like the Capital Fall Classic are
held all over the country. “We expect an excellent
tournament this year with some great match -ups,” states
Chris Friant, Tournament Director for the Strikers Soccer
Club. “There is
a huge demand for well-run tournaments and a city like
Richmond is a big attraction as it is easy to get to from a
large portion of the US population, and people enjoy
themselves once they get here!” says Friant. Roughly 2000
rooms are reserved in area hotels for the event, and local
restaurants and retailers are getting ready for the
increased traffic during the weekend.
This year
PeakTickets.com , a
Richmond based on-line ticket broker that sells premium
seating to sold-out events of all kinds, is the primary
sponsor of the event. “We are thrilled to work with
PeakTickets.com ,
and appreciate their support” states Scott Turner, Executive
Director for the Strikers. “They are a local company that is
really taking an interest in supporting the community and in
particular youth soccer,” said Turner.
